Amber Davies vows to return to Strictly Come Dancing as she offers 'masterclass'

Amber Davies has vowed to return to Strictly Come Dancing, just as Dani Dyer, who she replaced last year, announced she was also making a comeback to the ballroom

Amber Davies has vowed to return to Strictly Come Dancing and offered to teach a masterclass. The ex-Love Island winner, 29, reached the final of last year's edition of the BBC Saturday night favourite alongside professional partner Nikita Kuzmin, but they lost out on lifting the Glitterball trophy to Lioness Karen Carney and Carlos Gu.

Amber has carved out a successful career in musical theatre with leading roles in Pretty Woman, Back to the Future, since finding fame on reality TV almost a decade ago, and is currently starring as Elle Woods in the UK tour of Legally Blonde.

Whilst she has now ruled out any sort of mainstream comeback to television, she admitted she would like to return to Strictly in something of a teaching capacity.

Speaking on a new edition of her Call To Stage podcast, she said: There's no TV shows that I've got on my agenda. I wouldn't mind doing one-off things, like if Strictly got me back to do a masterclass in Musical Theatre week or a themed week.

"Or one-offs here and there. Ive done Strictly, Ive done Love Island, Ive done Dancing on Ice, I dont know if theres anything more on the list."

Amber's offer comes after several professionals like Karen Hauer, Nadiya Bychkova, Luba Mushtuk, and Michelle Tsiakkas were axed from the line-up ahead of the new series.

The West End star was famously drafted in as a last-minute replacement for fellow Love Island winner Dani Dyer when she sustained an injury in rehearsals, but it was just announced that Dani will now be competing in this year's edition of the competition, alongside EastEnders icon Lacey Turner.

Amber, who has interviewed the likes of High School Musical star Corbin Bleu, as well as Frozen's Samantha Barks and TV legend Brian Conley on Call to Stage, treated fans to a solo edition of her podcast this week.

Whilst fellow Love Islanders like Loose Women star Olivia Attwood, documentary maker Zara McDermott and I'm A Celebrity's Maura Higgins have all started up successful television presenting ventures, Amber insisted this was not for her.

She said: "A lot of people ask me if I want to be a presenter but I cant read an autocue so probably no. A passion like that comes with age and maturity and I just want to be on stage if Im gonna be brutally honest.

When I do Lorraine and This Morning, I live, love laugh those moments but do I want to be on mainstream telly? Not right now.
