Manufacturing conventional fertilizer requires enormous energy, mostly from power plants that burn fossil fuels and release greenhouse gasses.
Sustainable alternatives exist, but can be costly.
Sustainably made fertilizers are essential for organic agriculture. They offer benefits for the soil and consumer health. Yet, existing sustainable fertilizers are restricted by high costs, nutrient reliability, and operational challenges.
