Love Island winner sparks backlash with 'disrespectful' move days after leaving villa

ITV Love Island fans has branded one star's post-villa move as "disrespectful" days after their show win.

Lorenzo and Julia were crowned the 2026 winners after an explosive live final, which saw Jasmine and Kavan taking second place. Angelista and Simba found themselves in third place as fans instantly had their say on who they believed would last on the outside.

Jasmine and Kavan appear to be going strong since their exit, however, viewers have expressed doubts over Lorenzo and Julia, saying they have spotted a huge social media clue that the two could be headed for a split.

Before they left the villa, Lorenzo and Julia confirmed they were "exclusively dating", a tag that they confirmed would continue in the outside world. But now, eagle-eyed fans have spotted Lorenzo's account 'liking' other girls' photographs on social media, an act they think means he and Julia may not last.

Taking to Reddit, one person shared a thread that read: "Lorenzos been caught in the likes of a few IG models. What we do we think?"

One fan slammed the act as "disrespectful" while another said: "Disappointed. I hope Julia moves on and never looks back."

In another thread, another fan questioned whether the couple's long-held plans had taken place yet. They asked: "I just want to know if Julia went to Lorenzo's family home yesterday? We had no pictures or anything other than him being caught liking girls pictures lets hope we at least get something from them."

Another person said: "The way people are acting like hes been caught in bed with them is so funny." Another penned: " I think its crazy that youve searched out this kind of thing lmfao."

On Instagram, one person said: "That doesnt mean he doesnt like her. He doesnt even know her that long and theyre dating not married."

However, concerned fans need not worry as Lorenzo and Julia actually addressed their relationship status today (August 3). They appeared on ITV's This Morning with presenters Paddy McGuinness and Josie Gibson.

The appearance marked the first time Lorenzo and Julia have spoken out to the public since they earned their win, having been mostly silent on social media. Issuing a relationship update, Lorenzo confirmed: "As we've left the villa we're still in the same place."

He then added: "We're exclusively dating. Honestly it's been a crazy few days and everything just needs to settle down and we're going to to go on some lovely dates."

However, Julia revealed the pair had spent time apart since the final as she asked where and when Lorenzo would be taking her on the date.
