Domain Names

As with any new venture you need a name. A domain name can be your companies name, product or industry and is used in both your email and web site addresses to uniquely identify you.

Even if you are not planning to set up a web site yet, we strongly advise you register your domain name now. This will still enable you to have your own company email addresses (This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.) and it prevents someone else taking the name you want!!

If you have decided to have your own domain name (e.g www.mycompanyname.co.uk) you can only purchase it if it is not being used by someone else.

Additionally, any domain name is only as good as the internet marketing campaign behind it and in our vast experience, if you are a UK based company then certainly register your '.co.uk' domain and as a secondary choice, the '.com' equivalant . You may also choose additional suffixes eg. '.biz', '.info' etc. for use with structured internet marketing plans to promote key products or services.Your chosen name must end with a suffix which identifies the business/organisation type or country of registration. For example '.co.uk' is for UK registrations. It is important to note that whilst there are no hard and fast rules, some countries do have criteria that must be met before you can register a domain specific to that country.
