The hosts of The Five question whether Karoline Leavitt will join Fox News after she abruptly announced her resignation as White House press secretary on Wednesday.

On Thursday night's episode of The Five, the hosts Emily Compagno, Jessica Tarlov, Charles Hurt, Shannon Bream, and Greg Gutfeld addressed Leavitt's news on Wednesday that she will be stepping down as President Donald Trump's press secretary at the end of the month to spend more time with her young children.

While the hosts were mainly contemplating who would be Leavitt's replacement, co-host Greg Gutfeld admitted, "I worry that shell come to work at Fox and then well have three of them," seemingly referring to former White House press secretaries who became Fox News anchors. It comes as leaked video captured Leavitt's 'tense' exchange with Trump on Marine One hours before her shock resignation.

Gutfeld continued while the other hosts can be heard laughing, "We already have Dana [Perino], and Kayleigh [McEnany], and then we'll have Karoline."

"And then they'll have their own show," Gutfeld continued as he sat at the panel desk with his arms crossed.

"You always have to make it so awkward, Greg," co-host Hurt responded, as Gutfeld burst into laughter. Hurt then contemplated if his co-host Bream would make a good candidate for White House press secretary, "because she's a strong woman."

"Donald Trump, what does he like to do more than anything else? Empower strong women," Hurt continued. "He surrounds himself with strong women who are very, very good at their jobs."

In response to the clip of Gutfeld worrying that Leavitt will join Fox News, one user on X wrote, "Shell end up at FOX, or start a MAGA anti-immigration podcast called 'Love it or Leavitt.'"

A second user commented, seemingly agreeing that Fox News is a possibility for Leavitt in her next career move, "Oh, shes definitely going to Fox."

"Gee, Greg, with as much as you love all things trump, why would it be a problem to have another trumpette at Fox?" another user wrote.

Leavitt, 28, hasn't announced her next career moves after she made history as the country's youngest White House press secretary and the only press secretary to be pregnant in the role. It's also unclear who will be her successor in the position.

Trump was the first to announce the news of her resignation on Wednesday via a Truth Social post, in which he commended her for being "one of my most trusted aides" and detailed that her resignation was "a decision I totally understand and respect."

She won't be completely removed from the Trump administration when she leaves at the end of the month, as the president announced that she will serve as one of his "top outside advisors."

Leavitt's news comes shortly after she returned from maternity leave on July 16, after she and her husband, Nicholas Riccio, 60, welcomed their second child.

She explained her decision in an X post, writing, The truth is since returning to the White House after the birth of my daughter, I have felt in my heart that I cannot be the best mom my two young children deserve while devoting the constant time, energy, and attention required of the White House Press Secretary and that is why I have ultimately made the bittersweet decision to depart the White House and embark on a new chapter in my life."

Meanwhile, a lip reader exposed Leavitt's sharp words to a blonde Trump aide in a 'tense' exchange before she quit.
