Sky Sports viewers were not impressed with what they saw.

The 2026/27 football season has officially begun, with several Championship games already being played.

A highly-anticipated match between Wrexham and Cardiff City took place on Monday night (August 17) at the Cardiff City stadium.

Cardiff produced a late comeback to snatch a 1-1 draw against Wrexham in the dramatic opener, which left fans speechless. Rubin Colwill produced a magic moment deep into stoppage time to rescue a point for his side, following Kieffer Moore's early goal.

While many viewers enjoyed the match, others were left frustrated by the coverage on Sky Sports, as they felt it was biased towards Wrexham.

"Can't stand the love in Sky have for Wrexham," one person wrote on X (formerly Twitter).

Another added: "This Sky Wrexham love in is absolutely vomit inducing," while a third said: "The way Sky talk about Wrexham is sososo infuriating. They act as if they're some huge team."

Meanwhile, someone else thought that the coverage leaned towards Cardiff: "Sitting watching this in Scotland (heavy rain outside).. thought SKY have been very biased in build-up and comments in favour of Cardiff."

However, there weren't just complaints, as other viewers were pleased with the live coverage, which started with presenter Caroline Barker speaking in Welsh.

"Respect to the Sky Sports presenter @carolinebarker for opening tonight's Cardiff-Wrexham in Welsh.. a dead language according to some," one person wrote.

Another commented: "Great commentary on Sky!"

Wrexham's manager Phil Parkinson shared his thoughts at the end of the match.

"We've had chances to kill the game off. We haven't taken them, the keeper's made saves, but we haven't really made him make a top-class save," he said.

"We knew we could give Cardiff problems, and time and time again we did. Really in the cold light of day, the game should have been out of sight, but it wasn't."

The Championship will continue this weekend, kicking off with Birmingham vs Bristol City on Saturday (August 22). There's lots of football to enjoy, as the new Premier League season also gets underway later this week.
