Rhondda

The Rhondda is made up of two valleys the Rhondda Fawr and the Rhondda Fach and includes the towns of Treorchy, Treherbert, Tylorstown, Penygraig, Maerdy, Tonypandy, Ferndale, and Porth. The Rhondda has a rich coal mining history, but the industry saw a steep decline from the 1940s to the 1980s. For the latest stories sign up to our Rhondda newsletter here.
