Premier League fans race to get 'lowest ever price' Sky Sports deal before kick-off

Virgin Media's Summer of Sport sale has knocked almost 100 off a TV, sport, Netflix and fibre broadband package ahead of the 2026/27 season

The 2026/27 Premier League season gets underway on Friday, August 21.

The summer has flown by as the Premier League returns in a matter of days for the 2026/27 season. As football fans across the country scramble to get their TV subscriptions in order in time for the first game on Friday (August 21), one retailer is knocking almost 100 off a TV and Sky Sports bundle.

However, it doesnt come from Sky, rather its rival Virgin Media, which has reduced its flagship Sport bundle from 56.99 to 52.99 a saving of 96 over the 24-month contract. The deal is running until September 9 as part of a Summer of Sport sale and marks the return of its lowest ever price, Virgin says.

It works out at roughly 1.70 per day for more than 200 channels and full Sky coverage of the Premier League, EFL, F1, golf and more across nine Sky Sports channels. Whats more, it also includes 516Mbps fibre broadband and a free Netflix subscription.

To get the discounted rate, new customers need to commit to a 24-month contract, but Virgin will also pay up to 300 to cover early exit fees charged by another provider. Theres a caveat though, as Virgin has already announced its Sport bundle customers will see their bills rise to 56.99 from April 2027 and 60.99 from April 2028.

Thats not the only package available in the Summer of Sport sale, with the Sport + Cinema bundle also getting a price cut. Reduced to 62.99 (was 66.99), this option provides all the same benefits previously mentioned but throws in Sky Cinema channels too.

Product Description

Virgin Media has knocked 96 off its Sport bundle in a Summer of Sport sale in time for the 2026/27 Premier League season. This includes more than 200 regular TV channels plus nine from Sky Sports, plus 516Mbps fibre broadband and a free Netflix subscription.

The third and final discounted package is the all-singing and dancing Max Volt bundle at 74.99 (was 78.99). While by far the most expensive Virgin deal, it also includes plenty of bang for your buck.

As well as all the TV, Sky Sport, Sky Cinema and Netflix access, it also boosts the broadband speeds to a blazing-fast 1,130Mbps. Max Volt customers will also receive an O2 Classic Plan SIM with unlimited UK data, minutes and texts, roaming in 75 destinations and a three-month O2 Extra such as Disney+ or Amazon Prime.

Elsewhere, Sky has just confirmed it will broadcast more than 1,500 fixtures this season across the Premier League, EFL, WSL and more, all of which are included with its 35 Essential TV and Sky Sports bundle. However, some may find the 44 Ultimate TV and Sky Sports bundle to be better value as this also comes with five free streaming subscriptions including Netflix, HBO Max and Disney+.

Arsenal will get their title defence underway when they host Coventry City in the season opener.

Fans hoping to tune into this seasons biggest European fixtures should be aware that UEFA Champions League and Europa League games arent shown on Sky or terrestrial channels, with TNT Sports and HBO Max holding the exclusive rights to these competitions. Many customers have rated Virgin Medias service highly on Trustpilot, where one highlighted their experience of watching football without any buffering.

Virgin have been excellent, one five-star review reads. Im working from home and struggled initially with poor broadband. Moved to Virgin and havent had any issues at all. My other half is also very happy because he can watch football without any frustrating buffering.

Another said: Really happy with the number of varied TV channels available. I love sports, mainly Premier League football, and am very pleased with the service providing Sky Sports. Entertainment Channels have a great choice too. Haven't had too many problems with Virgin and long may it continue.

Others reported issues with their own service, as this three-star review notes: The internet just switches off midway watching a film or football match, it is very frustrating. While another happy customer shared: Its great to be able to watch most of the football being played as well as Netflix.
