Although GraphChi has been primarily developed for running with computers with relatively small amount of memory, it can also utilize large amount of memory, if available.
Preloading allows GraphChi to permanently keep files in memory, instead of reloading them from disk every iteration.
In the ConfigurationFile, you can specify setting such as preload.max_megabytes = 10000
... which instructs GraphChi to use 10 gigabytes of memory for preloading.
In the end of the run, the changes to preloaded files are commited back to disk.
Note: Preloading currently does not work with dynamic graphs.
