The MLAB system is a set of hardware and software modules designed for the fast development of new devices. The set of devices or instruments already based on the MLAB system is really wide and ranges from a simple battery charger or meteor and lightning detection stations to cosmic ray detectors. The general workflow for that is to design a device prototype using MLAB modules. The new apparatus is then extensively tested across several units. After that, the application PCB is designed.
To make that workflow applicable, the prototype components need to be open-source. Therefore, the MLAB's key idea is to extensively use open-source design tools like KiCAD, OpenSCAD, or FreeCAD. In some cases, you can find missing pieces (modules) to design the prototype you have in mind. That case is a situation where your contribution is especially helpful.
