Hi, this is the SPECFEM github organization site to host a family of spectral-element code repositories.
We are dedicated to open-source development for the computational seismology community. If you want to follow and participate in the discussions on this site, here is a quick setup guide for you
SPECFEM3D Cartesian simulates acoustic (fluid), elastic (solid), coupled acoustic/elastic, or poroelastic seismic wave propagation in any type of conforming mesh of hexahedra (structured & unstructured).
SPECFEM3D Globe simulates global and regional (continental-scale) seismic wave propagation for Earth, Mars & Moon.
SPECFEM2D simulates forward and adjoint seismic wave propagation in two-dimensional acoustic, (an)elastic, poroelastic or coupled acoustic-(an)elastic-poroelastic media, with Convolution PML absorbing conditions.
SPECFEM1D simulates seismic wave propagation in a one-dimensional heterogeneous medium. It is a small code that allows users to learn how a spectral-element program is written.
