Herdr Roam is a local personal AI software studio for coordinating Codex and Claude agents managed by Herdr.
It keeps active work, durable conversation history, project files, reusable Skills, and native agent terminals in one focused interface. Herdr continues to own processes and PTYs; Herdr Roam provides the coordination and reading layer above them.
Herdr Roam currently supports one local user and one local host. It is designed to bind to loopback and does not provide authentication for public or shared-network deployment.
git clone https://github.com/bencode/herdr-roam.git
cd herdr-roam
pnpm install --frozen-lockfile
pnpm buildStart the Herdr server in one terminal:
herdr serverThen start Herdr Roam:
pnpm startOpen http://127.0.0.1:4310.
Projects are discovered from the working directories of running Herdr agents; add others from the project menu in the sidebar. The registry lives in your OS config directory under herdr-roam/config.json. Session history is read in place from ~/.codex/sessions and ~/.claude/projects.
Set ROAM_HOST and ROAM_PORT to change the listen address (default 127.0.0.1:4310).
With the Herdr server running, start the API server on port 4311 and the Vite app on port 4310:
pnpm devRun the project checks with:
pnpm lint
pnpm typecheck
pnpm test
pnpm buildThe project documentation covers the product scope, system architecture, project routing, Herdr runtime integration, and Workbench interaction model.
This is an early, source-only preview. Herdr Roam intentionally does not own the Herdr server process, provide a remote multi-user service, replace native agent CLIs, or maintain a separate task database.
