Reject cursor movement, erasure, alternate-screen sequences, and bare CR not
followed by LF while allowing SGR formatting and CRLF.
Make start_spinner return early in linear mode for both the toolbar and
fallback renderers.
Rationale
Both spinner implementations replace existing terminal cells, violating the
append-only contract. Guarding their shared entry point prevents either from
starting regardless of the input backend.
Testing
The invariant runs in the linear-mode harness; focused tests and lint pass.
