Report abuseMy name is Eric J. Drewitz and I am a Meteorologist with a hobby for software development. I mainly code in the Python programming language, though I am actively learning C# and starting to dabble in Julia.
My work focuses on developing packages to help fellow meteorologists and weather enthusiats access, analyze and visualize various types of weather and climate data.
FireWxPy - An open source Python package focused on weather data visualization that has a special emphasis on fire weather.
WxData - An open source Python package consisting of data clients that downloads, pre-processes and post-processes a medley of open-source weather data. Has support for users working on VPNs and/or proxy server connections. Also has other tools to assist with analyzing weather data and assisting with automated workflows.
xmACIS2Py - An open source Python package focused on creating data visualizations of ACIS2 climate data (xmACIS2 in Python).
shapeography - An open source Python package that has a client that automates the download and installation of cartographic files (has VPN/PROXY connection support). Also has tools to unzip these files and extract data from these cartographic files (i.e. .shp and .geojson files).
PyClimo - An open source Python package for climate data analysis such as NCAR Reanalysis and PRISM data.
