This repository hosts the OpenServerless Operator, a Python-based Kubernetes operator responsible for managing the OpenServerless platform components (OpenWhisk, Storage, Security, etc.).

This operator is built using Kopf (Kybernetes Operator Framework) and follows a Plugin-Based Architecture.

• Core Logic: operator/openserverless/
• Plugins: operator/openserverless/plugins/
  • openwhisk: Manages OpenWhisk controller/invoker.
  • storage: Manages MinIO/SeaweedFS.
• Security: Enforces strict schema validation (schema.py) and secure authentication (Hydra-compliant).

• Python 3.11+
• Kubernetes Cluster (and kubectl configured)

To run the operator locally against your current K8s context:

.\run_operator.ps1

Build the Docker image:

cd operator
docker build -t my-openserverless-operator .

1. New Plugins: Add a new class in operator/openserverless/plugins/ inheriting from BasePlugin.
2. Register: Add your plugin instance to the PLUGINS list in main.py.
