I think we actually want a one-way comparison here, rather than two-way. With the current two-way comparison, cherry-picks like #350 are reported as being included in every merge.

Merge / deployment checklist

  • Confirm this change is backwards compatible with existing workflows.
  • Confirm the readme has been updated if necessary.
