Kartik Menon

AI solutions architect in Bengaluru. I work out what a business actually needs built, then get it built — usually by finding that the interesting problem is somewhere other than where everyone was looking.

Day job is Uniserved, where I co-founded and have spent ten years building the platform behind a national field-services business: 20,000+ partners, 500,000+ tickets. Six AI systems now run against its live operations — voice, OCR, speech-to-text and retrieval — each with a before/after number attached. That work and my consulting builds live in private git, so what's here is the hobby half.

What's worth looking at

  • crux-crossword — generates NYT Friday/Saturday-difficulty crosswords. The interesting part is a backtracking fill over wide-open themeless grids, with the wordlist intersected against the hard-clue bank up front, so the search only ever places answers that already have a Friday-level clue. Constrain the space rather than filter the output. Code only: corpus data is fetched at runtime, nothing is committed or redistributed, personal use.
  • AIFun — small generative-art and live-data toys in pure Python, no dependencies. Includes Sargamle, Wordle for the ears in sargam, where the raga's rules are encoded as hard constraints plus a weighted score.
  • timeroo — Flutter interval timer for Android. Finished, licensed, published.
  • claude_skills — skills I actually use with Claude Code.

About the forks — most of this account is forks. They're a reading list, not a portfolio: things I wanted to come back to. The four repos above are mine.

I write up the delivery work on Substack — most recently why my proposal generator kept producing faithful, useless proposals, which turned out to be a problem with the documents it trusted rather than the model. More at kartikmenon.com.
