WalkthroughThe runtime adds helpers to serialize local values and resume closure-aware content. The translator forwards local closure references through nested sections and selects the corresponding DOM and SSR renderer paths. New direct and nested attribute-tag fixtures exercise the behavior. Generated bundle and fixture size metadata is updated. A changeset documents the runtime correction. A separate feedback item documents Node-version pinning for mise-managed pnpm and hook shims. 🚥 Pre-merge checks | ✅ 4 | ❌ 1❌ Failed checks (1 warning)

| # Pin a node version file so pnpm/hook shims pick a supported node | ||
|
|
||
| `engines.node` requires >= 22.18 (native `module.registerHooks`), but nothing pins a version for tool managers: there is no `.node-version` / `.nvmrc` / `mise.toml`. On a machine whose `pnpm` is a mise shim and whose default `node` is older (e.g. a system 22.14), `pnpm run …`, `pnpm test`, and the husky pre-commit hook all die inside the compiler `prepare` step with `TypeError: registerHooks is not a function`, even when a supported node is exported on `PATH`, because the shim resolves node from its own config. A `.node-version` (or `[tools] node` in `mise.toml`) matching `engines` makes every shim agree with the repo, and `engine-strict=true` in `.npmrc` would fail fast with a readable message instead of a stack trace from `scripts/types`. |

pnpm 11 release non-auth settings .npmrc engine-strict
💡 Result:
In pnpm 11, the.npmrc file is restricted to authentication and registry-related settings only [1][2]. All other project and CLI configurations, including engine-strict, must now be moved out of.npmrc [1][3]. To configure engine-strict in pnpm 11, you must define it in your pnpm-workspace.yaml file or a global configuration file (such as ~/.config/pnpm/config.yaml) [1][2][3]. To set engine-strict, add the following to your pnpm-workspace.yaml at the root of your project: engineStrict: true You can also include the nodeVersion setting in the same file if you wish to enforce a specific Node.js version across the project: nodeVersion: 22.0.0 engineStrict: true Environment variables can also be used as an alternative, using the pnpm_config_ prefix (e.g., pnpm_config_engine_strict=true) [1][2]. Additionally, pnpm 11 no longer reads settings from the pnpm field within package.json files [4].

Place the exported configuration before the helper declaration.
Move click below export const config to keep the public API at the top of the file.

Do not emit a bare closure-resume wrapper.
If writeProp fails, Line 797 removes the locals call but this function still reports success. packages/runtime-tags/src/dom/renderer.ts Lines 148-152 register this ID as (owner) => (locals) => Renderer, so _(scopeId, id) resolves to the locals function instead of a Renderer. Fail this serialization path or emit a renderer-compatible fallback.

Attribute tag content that closes over a render-only local (a <for> param wrapped around an <@item>) lost that value once the client re-rendered the content: after SSR the registered content was serialized as _(owner, id) with no closure values, so a collapse/expand of the parent that mounts it again rendered person: blank. A nested variant — reading the local from inside another custom tag's body within the @item content — was broken in CSR as well, because only the innermost section was marked as needing the local and the intermediate content called the nested renderer without it.
The server now registers such content with _content_resume_locals, and the serializer appends the locals as a call on the resumed reference — _(owner, "id")({ person: "alice" }) — so they cost nothing where the content is never serialized and consume no scope ids. The client registers a _content_closures_resume factory that returns the content instance for those locals with the real owner scope. Analysis marks every section between the read and the declaring section as forwarding the local, so intermediate content stores it on its scope and passes it down as a scope read instead of a lexical one.
Two fixtures cover the direct and nested cases through SSR+resume and CSR with three toggles each. The four existing fixtures whose bundles change have the same shape (registered attr-tag content over a loop param); their rendered output and SSR stream are unchanged.
