matplotlib.org/stable pages had zero og:* and twitter:* meta tags, so every shared docs/gallery/tutorial link rendered a bare text card on Slack, Discord, X, LinkedIn, and forums. - doc/_templates/layout.html: emits per-page og:title/description/url, og:image (1200x630), og:site_name, and twitter:card=summary_large_image via the theme's extrahead block (super() keeps existing meta). - doc/_static/og-image.png: 1200x630 brand social preview card. Static template-only change; no runtime or JS impact.

I just emailed myself a link to part of the User Guide, and it looks like this So I am not clear that the problem as stated exists. The account has been flagged by AgentScan and is clearly opening the same thing across many repos, so I am closing in line with our policy. |

This PR adds a 1200×630 social preview banner plus a full Open Graph / Twitter Card meta set to every page on matplotlib.org.
Problem
When any matplotlib.org/stable/... link is shared on Slack, Discord, X/LinkedIn, forums, or email clients, the link renders with a bare title and no image card — the docs <head> currently has zero og:* and zero twitter:* tags. matplotlib.org is one of the most-shared Python documentation sites (every tutorial/gallery/reference link gets shared constantly), so every share currently looks like a plain text link.
What's included
Static template-only change; no runtime or JS impact.
The banner image was generated using the OG Image Generator — a free API for creating GitHub social preview images. The premium version ($1) removes the small watermark.
