I already removed this function once in 2023, in Python 3.13 alpha1! PR gh-105183 of issue gh-105182 (commit ec0082c). I restored this function in Python 3.13 beta1 because it affected 16 projects in Fedora: PR gh-117931 (commit 75eed5b). In the meanwhile, some projects have been updated to no longer call PyEval_InitThreads() on Python 3.7 and newer. |
