This should have been spotted by sphinx-lint, tracked here:

sphinx-contrib/sphinx-lint#39

Introduced in #94349 so it needs a backport to 3.11 and 3.10.

Sorry, @JulienPalard, I could not cleanly backport this to 3.10 due to a conflict.
Please backport using cherry_picker on command line.
