An open source version of the GitHub Copilot Workspace
This guide provides comprehensive instructions for developing an open-source GitHub Copilot Workspace clone using Node.js and Next.js. The application will feature task management, plan generation, a code editor, terminal access, real-time collaboration, and user authentication.
Create Next.js Project with TypeScript:
npx create-next-app copilot-workspace-clone --typescript
cd copilot-workspace-cloneInstall Necessary Dependencies:
npm install express axios monaco-editor react-monaco-editor prisma @prisma/client next-auth socket.ioSet Up Environment Variables: Create a .env file in the root directory:
DATABASE_URL=your_database_url
OPENAI_API_KEY=your_openai_api_key
GITHUB_CLIENT_ID=your_github_client_id
GITHUB_CLIENT_SECRET=your_github_client_secret
