Mohamed Lamin Walon-Jalloh

Backend and systems engineer building fintech, health, and civic-tech infrastructure for Sierra Leone. Electrical and Electronic Engineering student at Fourah Bay College, expected December 2026.

I write Go, Rust, and TypeScript, with Python for scripting and data work. I lead Walon Foundation, a software company that builds products, client work, and open-source developer tools.

My projects

  • forge – A Go modular monolith (Chi, sqlc, golang-migrate, JWT, Prometheus) with a Rust load-testing CLI as a submodule. Deployed to AWS.
  • tinyinput – A TypeScript library that brings Python-style input handling to Node.
  • 1001-ways-to-code – A cross-language journey through coding problems and solutions.
  • waitlist-cloudflare – A full-stack waitlist app built for edge deployment.
  • cms_for_laptop – A CMS built with React and Node.js to track laptops distributed during community workshops.

Walon Foundation work

  • code-lang – An interpreted programming language written in Go, now being rewritten in Rust.
  • monime-package – Official TypeScript SDK for Monime, Sierra Leone's payment platform.
  • fundwave – Mobile-money-native crowdfunding platform for Sierra Leoneans. Winner, DaVinci Hackathon.
