The browser pilot can restore existing files, but cannot retain daily additions or versions. This draft adds a CLI storage layer over the pinned existing archive.

Immutable snapshots preserve earlier path versions; repeated additions reuse whole-file objects and unchanged additions return the same pin. New objects are raw/DEFLATE, verified before snapshot publication. The base archive is referenced, not recompressed. File deletion is not propagated.

Validation: 70 synthetic V2 tests passed in 8.233s, including 8 new tests covering version restore, dedup/revert, corruption, interrupted publication, writer locking and source/output guards. Output and limitations are in experiments/personal_memory_1tb_v2/INCREMENTAL_MEMORY_PILOT.md and INCREMENTAL_MEMORY_TEST_OUTPUT.txt.

Not yet integrated into browser or installed on laptop. Requires base archive to remain available, explicit snapshot pins and trusted local files. New files limited to 8 MiB; no empty-directory/metadata preservation, encryption or industrial scale claim. Physical power-loss behavior and mobile operation remain unqualified. Next is a separate UI pilot for additions and history. No private corpus content included.

Add an independent two-worker codec frontier runner with exact disk roundtrips and a fixed bzip2/xz6 sample policy. Preserve three-repeat public and synthetic evidence, timing boundaries, version metadata, and a negative probe-cost result.

On the known Silesia development corpus the adaptive candidate reduced median measured pipeline time from 80.19s to 19.23s at 4.61% extra payload. Application integration and independent VIKA validation remain pending.
Add opt-in sample-bz-xz6 encoding, explicit compatible reader support, hash-before-encode deduplication, and bounded two-worker scheduling. Keep legacy defaults and daily version codecs unchanged. Resolve a manifest accounting fixed-point cycle exposed by xz6 coverage.

Record laptop terminal acceptance (3.84x Silesia, 2.66x VIKA with 4.61% and 1.45% extra payload), 135 passing regression tests, and a public full-Silesia integration demonstration with 101 verified XML states and corruption/deletion checks. Distinguish codec timings from complete application timings and retain current pilot limits.
…ocol tests

Validate bounded search/clarification plans over host-granted evidence. Add a local-only model client and an eight-case live routing probe. Eight deterministic adapter tests passed; real-model quality and GUI integration remain unmeasured.
…rchitecture decision

Ground user needs in comparable project documentation and reported failure cases. Separate canonical originals from derived search/AI layers. All new product scenarios remain NOT_EXECUTED; three catalogue validation checks passed. No personal documents included.
