axe-core 4.13 fixed a stacking-order bug that made it give up on resolving the fab-list button's background ("incomplete"), so a real contrast failure was never reported as a violation. The md fab-list text color, rgba($text-color-rgb, 0.54), blends to #707172 on #f4f5f8 for 4.48:1, just under the 4.5:1 AA threshold.
