One man is regretting a cheeky joke he made to his neighbour after it ended up causing chaos.

The guy said he heard his neighbour and wife getting it on so decided to make a quip about it when they were both putting the bins out a few days later.

However, we're betting he wished he never had now after the trouble it caused.

The man took to popular X (formerly Twitter) account @Fesshole to share the tale. The account sees people anonymously sharing their deepest and darkest secrets online. And this one certainly had people talking.

It read: "Could hear my neighbour banging his missus loudly at the weekend. Bumped into him putting the bins out and made a jokey comment.

"Turns out he was away on a stag do that weekend and she was banging someone else. Ooops."

Since being shared this week, the post has gone viral, racking up more than 819,000 views. Some called the guy a 'hero' for uncovering the wife's cheating ways, as one person wrote: "Not all heroes wear capes."

Another chimed in: "You did him a massive favour," while a third added: "Not the only trash hell be getting rid of this week."

However, others doubted the story was even real. One person said: "Things that didnt," while another called it "bullsh*t". A third added: "It's a great story bro, but it didnt happen."

The post comes after another Fesshole confession involving one man's wife also caught attention back in February.

He said he 'couldn't work out' why his wife was using so many batteries, with people on the internet informing him she may be having some fun with sex toys.
