Movie Tough guy Vin Diesel is a big softie at heart after revealing the final instalment in the Fast & Furious movie series left him in floods of tears.
The main Fast & Furious film series is scheduled to end with its eleventh movie, Fast Forever which is due to hit cinemas in March 17, 2028. It's been a long and emotional road for Diesel who wanted to make sure it was the perfect climax.
The 59-year-old explained: "I had to go through four sets of writers, four years of development, to get to something that I felt would be worthy of a finale. And when I read the script a couple of weeks ago, (I cried)."
During a 25th anniversary screening of the original Fast & Furious movie he told fans more details about the series climax.
He added: Im going to tell you something personal. It was after four different writers, four years of development, and after I read the script, halfway through, one tear.
"By the end of the script that we crafted and worked so hard to make right for you after four years, I was crying. I couldnt hold it back, and I had to tell everyone."
In the end Vin's family had to tell him to pull himself together: "And my sister said, No more crying, bro'. So I just want to say that sometimes, even the toughest guys in the world need to cry.
Diesel revealed the new movie will begin soon: We start shooting in December, if I can make good on the request from the studio, Diesel told Variety Monday night at the 25th anniversary screening of The Fast and the Furious. Im in a good place, though.
Fast & Furious has been a huge cash cow for Universal pictures with the franchise making an estimated $7.3 billion (5.4 billion).
The final movie will be directed by Louis Leterrier who recently teased: There will be an ending, and its great."
The next planned live-action project connected to the franchise is the Luke Hobbs-focused feature Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs & Reyes, which bridges Fast X and the upcoming main finale.
