Cruz Beckham to release rumoured song about Brooklyn and records a song called Wannabe on debut EP

Wear & Tear is Cruz's debut six track EP out in August and it includes Loneliest Boy rumoured to be about his brother Brooklyn, along with a new song called Wannabe for mummy maybe

Wear & Tears is Cruz's debut EP featuring six songs

Cruz Beckham is set to release a song rumoured to be about his estranged brother Brooklyn.

The young rocker drops his debut EP, Wear & Tear on August 21 featuring six new tracks including Loneliest Boy - a ballad he has been playing live on tour which includes the memorable line, "dont crush all your friends."

During performances in London earlier this year Cruz was visibly upset while singing it and even had to be consoled by bandmates. The track not only features his best guitar work, it boasts some pretty raw lyrics that appear to refer to the family rift with estranged sibling Brooklyn.

It goes: "Loneliest boy, mama don't talk too much, it's breaking her heart / It shows in the small things that you don't do. I guess in the end that it's you, yourself, and you / Tell me how do you live, when you've got nobody to lose?"

David and Victoria Beckham were in attendance at a London show in March and everyone appeared emotional when Cruz sang Loneliest Boy.

Cruz's EP, recorded with his band The Breakers also boasts a song called Wannabe, which apparently is not a cover of his mum's Spice Girl's hit. However, with that classic track's 30th anniversary this year it's more than a nod to a bit of Girl Power.

The 21 year-old has released the title track, Wear & Tear to get fans in the mood alongside a new video.

The debut EP also includes a Spice Girls cover of Wannabe

Speaking on the single and EP, Cruz said: Wear & Tear is synonymous to a life lived and all your life experiences so far - the good and the bad, the learning curves, and everything in between. No matter how different every human experience is, we all have had at least a few similar emotions that make us all human.

"Weve been high, and low, in love and in pain, jealous, upset - weve lived and learned. Weve all got our wear and tear.

The EP was crafted with live shows in mind, ahead of Cruz inaugural US tour this summer, and festival slots including Reading & Leeds, Rock N Roll Circus and Lollapalooza.
