Thrill seekers have a new heart-pounder to enjoy at Thorpe Park this summer and it is not a new rollercoaster ride.

Summer Sounds has come to the popular theme park west of London, which combines superstar DJ sets with late-night rides and attractions across the park.

Its new Launch Pad recharge zone has been transformed into a mini festival, complete with food vans and chill-out areas, while a stage sits proudly at the front.

DJs including Kate Frost, Gav James and Marky G are on hand this coming weekend to pump out the bangers from behind the decks while revellers party Glasto-style and also enjoy late closing into the night-time hours.

Your Daily Star gave it a sample last week and dined on Churros from one of the brilliant food spots while taking in the festival vibes and watching the music sets between rollercoaster thrills.

Its a brilliant new addition alongside the nearby Amity Beach, which has been packed all summer with families enjoying a seaside experience and swim in the heart of Chertsey, Surrey.

Rollercoaster Colossus has a fair few spins to it

Theme park chiefs are urging thrill seekers to make the most of the late opening days and live music entertainment while completing the Big 6 Coasters challenge.

Thats where youre tasked with riding the likes of the mind-warping Hyperia, the UKs tallest, fastest and most weightless rollercoaster.

A spokeswoman said: Standing at an eye-watering 236ft and reaching speeds of 81mph, Hyperia delivers

unforgettable airtime moments and has fast become a must-ride for adrenaline lovers.

You can complete the Big 6 by experiencing the explosive launch of Stealth, rocketing riders from 0-80mph in under two seconds, soaring inches above the ground on The Swarm, braving the beyond-vertical drop of Saw The Ride, spinning through volcanic forces on Nemesis Inferno, and taking on the ten iconic inversions of Colossus.

Younger thrill-seekers and families will find plenty to enjoy too.

There are some great water rides to cool off in too

They can take flight on the family-friendly coaster Flying Fish, spin and swoop on Zodiac, or enjoy classic theme park fun on rides Quantum, Rush and Samurai.

Water ride fans can cool off on some of the UKs wettest attractions, including the mighty Tidal Wave, twisting Storm Surge, and the multi-lane splashdown of Depth Charge.

The firm is also planning an epic autumn, culminating in a 25-year anniversary of Fear at Fright Nights around Halloween.

Fright Nights 2026 will deliver spine-tingling scare mazes, immersive scare zones, live entertainment and the chance to experience some of the UKs most thrilling rides in the dark.
