Tensions erupted during the bank holiday weekend after a massive street fight exploded outside a drinking establishment, with the man filming the incident screaming out "it's a mad ting".
Revellers enjoying their extended break looked on in shock as numerous men traded punches on a packed road. The large-scale scuffle descended into chaos with barriers and flower containers being toppled during the mayhem.
The disturbing altercation occurred on Sunday (April 5), as reported by NeedToKnow. The fracas unfolded outside the Bootmaker gastropub on Moulsham Street, Chelmsford. The video soon became an online sensation, accumulating more than 132,100 views and many comments.
Throughout the footage, strikes can be witnessed being thrown with several drinkers hitting the ground.
One unlucky duo tumbled into a rubbish container during the scrap, with the impact creating a thunderous bang.
Nearby security staff can be observed initially attempting to divide the crowd before the situation erupted onto the pavement.
Another participant can be spotted sprawled on the ground beyond the establishment.
The disorder escalated as onlookers gazed in revulsion. Those watching were stunned by the footage.
One individual commented: "Bank Holiday weekends are always the same, aren't they? Too much alcohol and whatever and they all think they're Mike Tyson, wet wipes."
Someone else remarked: "This is what happens when you get given the wrong easter egg and your mates got your favorite egg."
Another viewer stated: "We English love a bank holiday."
A different person observed: "Not one decent punch."
One individual concluded: "Very civilized behaviour." A spokesperson for Essex Police said: "We were called to reports of a disturbance in Chelmsford High Street at around 11.40pm on Sunday 5 April.
"Officers arrived at the scene and arrested two people for affray. If you have any information, CCTV, dash cam or other footage in relation to this incident, then please get in contact with us.
"Please quote incident 1421 of 5 April."
