AI platform ChatGPT is reportedly experiencing issues with thousands of users claiming that that it is currently down. OpenAI has since confirmed they are "currently experiencing issues".
Downdetector, which provides alerts on services worldwide, has seen thousands of users report that they are currently experiencing issues with the service. However, it is believed millions of users worldwide have been hit by the outage.
In a message on it's status page, Open Ai said it is currently having elevated error rates with APIs, ChatGPT and Codex. With regards to ChatGPT specifically, they list the error across all 15 of the components.
Reports have come in from users in the UK, UAE, US and more all claiming to have been left unable to access the service.
It is also not the first time this week that ChatGPT has reportedly had issues. On July 23, OpenAI confirmed another outage that hit ChatGPT with the fix taking 24 hours to resolve.
Frustrated ChatGPT users have taken to social media platform X to ask if the AI service was down and to complain about how it is ruining their day.
One user wrote: "ChatGPT has no reason to be down when I'm busy with my assignment on my last minutes. What bad luck is this."
Another said: "Guys, I think ChatGPT is down right now.@OpenAI, just on Saturday morning when I was going to do some nice fun side project."
A third commented: "Cant believe my life has become this dependent on chatGPT. @OpenAI Whats happening, chatGPT is down."
A fourth added: "ChatGPT goes down for five minutes and my entire workflow completely evaporates."
