An American Democrat politician has sparked a storm after joking about US President Donald Trump's alleged bowel problems.
There have been wild claims in the last couple of weeks that the 80-year-old President and "poos himself so much you can smell him around the corner" and smells of excrement.
And now Michigan Senate candidate Abdul El-Sayed fired back after the 80-year-old president launched a string of personal attacks on him following his victory in the Michigan Democratic primary.
The feud erupted after El-Sayed - who is known to be a progressive democratic socialist and public health physician - won a tightly contested race. Shortly afterwards, Trump went on the offensive during a speech in Las Vegas, calling El-Sayed a man of hate and accusing him of antisemitism over his criticism of the Israeli government.
Trump also turned the air blue with a crude insult, declaring: When I watch Abdul, hes full of s***. El-Sayed was asked about the remark in an interview with Sky News correspondent James Matthews, and delivered a tongue-in-cheek response that has since gone viral online.
Speaking to Matthews about Trumps claim he was full of s***, the Democrats Senate candidate for Michigan had a sharp retort. At least I dont let mine go in the middle of the Oval Office, El-Sayed replied with a grin.
The comment appeared to reference long-running, unverified online jokes and memes suggesting Trump wears adult nappies and has had accidents while working in the White House. These claims have never been substantiated, but they continue to circulate as internet satire.
El-Sayed has suddenly become one of the biggest names in Americas 2026 midterm elections after a shock win in the Michigan Democratic primary for the US Senate.
He backs Medicare for All, a universal healthcare plan often compared to state-backed systems like the NHS. He also pushes tougher corporate regulation, including heavier taxation and anti-monopoly action against mega-firms, plus aggressive climate measures targeting industrial polluters.
If the 41-year-old son of Egyptian immigrants beats Trump-backed Republican Mike Rogers in November 2026, he would become the first Muslim US Senator in history.
That has also made him a target among some right-wing figures.
