Legendary wrestling commentator Jim Ross was flooded with messages of support after giving fans a glimpse into his recovery following brain surgery. On Saturday, Ross posted a detailed photograph of the stitches used to seal the horseshoe-shaped cut made on the side of his skull. "The proof is in the pudding!" he wrote alongside the image.

In the replies below, countless X users sent their well-wishes for a swift recovery. Meanwhile in other wrestling news, Triple H encouraged WWE supporters earlier this month to accept Brock Lesnar's torch-passing moment at SummerSlam "at face value".

"Oh wow, get well soon Jim. Praying for your speedy recovery," one X user commented, while another added: "You got this my man we are all rooting for you! ! !".

A third contributed: "Glad you're on the mend, JR. Can't wait to hear you back in AEW.", reports the Irish Star.

During an appearance on his 'Grilling JR' podcast back in May, Ross disclosed that he was undergoing neurological examinations to establish whether he had developed dementia or Alzheimer's disease.

"I had a very positive doctor's appointment with my neurologist," he explained at the time. "The neurologist and I had an appointment, and they took a bunch of blood and ran some tests. I think they're worried about ... dementia, or Alzheimer's.

"I said, 'What the hell are you going to do about it?' There's not a cure. If there's meds I should be taking, preventatively, tell me what they are and I'll do it. But we'll see how it works out. But, I'm going through a lot of tests now. I don't feel bad at all, I feel great, actually."

After experiencing multiple health emergencies, Ross recognised he had to take decisive steps to tackle his memory, neurological and balance problems. The All Elite Wrestling commentator revealed he was found unconscious at his residence, which led to a gruelling 40-day hospital admission.

"I'm getting ready to have another surgery, brain surgery this time, and that's going to be an adventure, because I don't think they're going to find much, oh God, my brain," Ross said last month.

"I gotta get it addressed. I couldn't live my life the way it was, you know. I forget s--- and just couldn't remember things.

"It's just horrible. I felt horrible, but that all started with me passing out in my house and being discovered there, and we began an almost 40-day hospital stay."

Ross later had shunt surgery, where medics drilled into his skull and fitted a tiny tube to remove surplus brain fluid. "It's not optional if I want to get better, and I want to get better for sure," he said. "This is a whole new ball game, and it's a little scary to be honest with you."
