Just as psychologists use ink blot tests to delve into a patient's psyche, optical illusions can offer an intriguing glimpse into your own mind. Trusting your initial instincts could even reveal hidden depths about yourself which you didn't even realise were there.
These subjective images are ripe for interpretation and might test aspects of your personality you weren't even aware of. With this in mind, one woman shared a fascinating graphic with her followers. Allegedly, the way you interpret the image can indicate whether you're more of an optimist or a bit more reserved. So, what do you see when you look at the picture below?
Is it a waterfall or a panda?
According to the content creator, TikTok user @marina.neuralean, whichever image you spot first "reveals how easily you open up to others".
"It means you open up easily and make new connections easily," she explained as she added "you see yourself as an open person".
You possess a certain "lightness" and "simplicity" which "attracts others". You're also a great listener, and give genuinely helpful advice.
However, there may be a "downside" to this, as others may perceive you as "too positive, to the point where they think you have no problems at all".
This is because "when others come to you with their issues, you're always there to listen and help".
Yet "when it comes to your own problems, you prefer to handle them alone".
And while you "take pride in your independence, deep down, you wish you had someone to lean on and share your struggles with".
"You're the opposite of the previous description," Marina explained.
You "may appear sweet and friendly on the outside, but don't easily let people into your heart". Typically, it "takes you a long time to trust someone, and you have a hard time letting go of past hurts" as well.
Marina suggested this could be due to "past traumatic experiences," where you were "betrayed or deceived," so now you opt to "keep your distance".
But this isn't always "a bad thing" because it "shows you've learned from your past".
It also indicates you're "cautious not to make the same mistakes" you made before, so it's understandable why you might be guarded.
