A new sex robot installed with its own AI-generated sense of humour has hit the shelves and manufacturers claim it can make you laugh more than humans do.
Emma costs 4,220 and is powered by a Chinese AI engine that uses a database of cultural references, emotional cues and speech patterns.
Manufacturers claim the technology, Doubao AI, equips Emma with its own sense of humour that will improve through training. It also means it can hold conversations that are more realistic, more adaptable and more appealing to a global audience.
A spokesperson for Cloud Climax, an online UK-based sex doll store, said: Emmas sense of humour and empathy comes from the Doubao AI engine, which drives her conversational abilities.
Its trained on large datasets that include cultural references, emotional cues, and natural speech patterns. This lets Emma do more than just process language, she can respond in ways that feel genuine, empathetic, and even funny at times.
While its not flawless, the AI keeps learning and improving with every interaction.
The spokesperson added: Robots arent here to replace human connection but they can enhance it. When it comes to humour, AI can adapt jokes to someones taste and remember context over time, which sometimes means it can make people laugh more reliably than humans.
With empathy, AI companions can offer comfort through presence, active listening, and thoughtful responses. The aim isnt to take the place of loved ones or therapists, but to provide accessible companionship and an extra layer of emotional support.
Customers can pick from a range of different heads and body shapes, with eerily realistic hair. The dolls are made from silicone that give a softer, lifelike feel and potential owners can pick from a range of silicone heads that turn, blink and speak.
The spokesperson added: Our body shapes and facial designs are created in house by a team of sculptors and industrial designers.
Instead of copying any one person, they draw inspiration from global aesthetics and customer feedback. Each design goes through several stages from digital modelling to clay sculpting to fibreglass moulding to strike the right balance between realism and broad appeal.
Its as much an artistic process as a technical one, with the goal of creating human-like forms that feel relatable without directly replicating real people.
Earlier this year Cloud Climax launched what is thought to be one of the worlds most expensive sex robots. The doll, Companion Robot X04-SYNC2, will serve you coffee and speak four languages.
But it will cost you a whopping 64,700.
The doll can hold context-aware conversations using ChatGPT, which allows it to learn from past chats and adapt to future ones. It also comes with robotic facial expressions and hands that move, conveying expression.
And incredibly, it has micro cameras planted in the eyes to recognise and track people.
