Dani Dyer has caught the bug for English staycations after vowing to save the great British holiday. The football Wag and ex Love Islander, 29, has spent this week enjoying activities at Centre Parcs after showcasing British holidays on her caravan TV show.
Dani was joined by her kids and mum Jo at the famously middle-class holiday resort in Woburn, Bedfordshire. The telly star has been on screen recently trying to revamp a caravan park in Leysdown-on-Sea on the Isle of Sheppey, Kent, with her dad Danny in the hit Sky show The Dyers Caravan Park.
And ex-Eastender Danny said he hopes itll spark a revival in the great British holiday as war rages across the world, even in foreign holiday hotspots like Dubai.
He said: Thats the intention. Whether it works or not, I dont know.
A British holiday doesnt necessarily mean just the caravan. There are other things to do, and theres a lot of these Airbnb b******* going on at the moment.
Daughter Dani added during the launch of the show: My dad has always loved a caravan holiday, thats from his childhood. Were not really businessy kind of people.
"But its probably one of the best things weve done. Dani, married to West Ham football captain Jarrod Bowen, has taken that love of a staycation to the next level with an Easter trip to the picturesque woodlands at Woburn and was seen enjoying the great outdoors with her two-year-old twin children Summer an Star and son Santiago, and also had a dip at Centre Parcs famous indoor tropical swimming pool.
An onlooker said: Its not often you get a Love Islander in their swimwear in the same pool as you but Dani and the kids seemed to be having a blast enjoying all the resort had to offer. No one batted an eyelid at them throughout the stay as the clientele tend to be quite well off themselves and keep calm in the face of the famous.
Her dad and Jarrod werent around, I guess they were busy working, but it would have been a perfect stay for mum, grandma and kids. Lets hope Dani took a few tips away with her because I hear theyre making a second series of that caravan show shes been on.
It comes amid fears the ongoing conflict in Iran could have repercussions for UK holidays this summer. Average fuel prices have jumped through the 1.50p-a-litre mark as a result and some are already suggesting there are growing signs of a hidden crisis for UK tourism, as people begin to question whether they can afford to travel by car at all.
Kate Allen, Owner at Kingsbridge-based Finest Stays, said she fears that Brits will stop booking holidays over fears of rising fuel prices and inflation. She added: "For now, were not seeing a slowdown.
"Bookings are up around 10% on this time last year, with more guests opting to stay in the UK rather than travel further afield to places like Dubai. The Great British holiday is very much in favour, as were a nation that prioritises getting away, and domestic breaks are benefiting from that shift.
That said, theres a nervous undercurrent. Fuel costs feel like a slow leak, pressure building rather than bursting.
"Were expecting more guests to postpone or cancel, and thats where it gets tricky. Terms and conditions may cover it, but it doesnt make refund conversations any easier when the wider impact on businesses and homeowners isnt fully understood."
But others believe Dani and dad Danny will see their wish come true of a great British holiday year for 2026. Ben Perks, Managing Director at Stourbridge-based Orchard Financial Advisers, said he believes it is overseas holidays that will be cut back on.
He added: "The UK Getaway could see a resurgence. With the conflict in the Middle East, long haul holidays will be less desirable.
"Dubai airport is a stop off point for so many destinations. Families will also think twice about destinations like Cyprus.
"As costs in the UK rise, the lavish holidays may be put on hold until next year, but people need a break from work and they may choose to do that within the UK. A spokesman for Dyer was contacted for comment.
Dani later posted a series of pictures to Instagram of the family having a fun break. One fan said: Love Centre Parcs but you do need a holiday to recover.
Dani replied: Yes, Im shattered.
