'Heartbroken' pals of Caroline Flack's brother break silence after tragic death at 55

Paul Flack, brother of late Love Island presenter Caroline Flack, has died aged 55, with friends and Flackstock organisers sharing their heartbreak and paying tribute to the 'kind and loving' graphic designer

Paul Flack's mates have opened up to express their devastation following news of his passing. The graphic designer, sibling of Caroline Flack, died on June 21, mere days following his 55th birthday.

He was discovered unconscious at his residence last month, and was rushed to hospital where he was declared dead. An inquest has now been launched at Norfolk Coroner's Court and will take place on October 23.

His passing comes six years following his sister's decision to take her own life at the age of 40. Following their bereavement, the organisers of Flackstock - a festival established in memory of the late Love Island presenter - offered their condolences.

"We are beyond heartbroken by Paul Flack's passing," a message posted on Instagram began. "We loved Paul so deeply, and this news has shattered us all. Paul was funny, kind and loving. He gave the best hugs and had the most brilliant laugh. We will miss him so much.

"Flackstock exists as a festival to give people hope. To remember those who have been lost, and to hold a hand out to anyone who is struggling. This news is hard to hear and hard to share.", reports the Mirror.

"Right now, our focus is supporting the Flack family however we can, so please bear with us while we grieve someone we loved so very, very much.

"If you are struggling, you are not alone. The Samaritans are there for you 24/7 on 116 123," they added. "Please take care of each other, and be kind."

Celebrities queued up to offer their respects to Paul beneath the post, with Olly Murs and Laura Whitmore sharing a heartbroken emoji. "These messages are so lovely. We love you all so much. Thank you," Dawn O'Porter wrote.

Lizzie Cundy commented: "Heartbreaking...so very sorry."

Zara Holland, who knew Caroline after appearing on the second season of Love Island in 2015, added: "So sorry for your loss."

Flackstock has taken place every year since 2022, aimed at highlighting mental health concerns following Caroline's death in February 2020. The late Strictly Come Dancing champion maintained a tight relationship with her brother.

His final Instagram post was devoted to her memory.

Next to a childhood photograph of Caroline from August 2020, he wrote: "This will be my last post here. May those who know feel shame for eternity. Love you Caroline x."

Paul's body was found at his home in Norwich on June 21, several days before the announcement emerged this week. Police officers attended the location and are presently considering his death as "unexplained".

Norfolk Police revealed in a statement: "Officers were called by ambulance after concerns for the safety of a man in his 50s. He was taken by ambulance to Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital but was sadly pronounced dead at 10.44pm.

"The death is being treated as unexplained at this time but police do not currently believe there are any suspicious circumstances."
