Katie Prices first acting debut sparks jaw-dropping reaction from film critics

EXCLUSIVE: Reality TV icon Katie Price has made her acting debut in Jackie the Stripper and the reaction from critics and audiences is already causing a huge stir

Teaser trailer for Jackie The Stripper with Katie Price

Reality TV icon Katie Price has stunned critics with her acting debut in the much-anticipated spoof comedy Jackie the Stripper, according to director Michael Head. The film is set to be a huge release this year, with Pricey's talents being discussed amongst industry esecustives.

Jackie is currently being shown at the Berlin Film Festival, and Katie has been really well received, Head exclusively told the Daily Star. Katie from film buyers and industry executives, they're loving her appearance, which is fantastic considering she often faces unfair criticism. I genuinely think some of the negativity she gets is completely unjust. Honestly, Im shocked by some of the blind hatred and unfair comments she receives online.

"She was so professional but she was also hilarious, she's unbelievably funny. If you look at her career, she was a model, a very pretty lady, but how many other people are incredibly pretty? She's had the career she's had because she's persistent, talented and got the drive."

Asked for his final verdict on her performance, he added: What was she like on set? The ultimate pro.

The film, a tongue-in-cheek take on the Jack the Ripper story, boasts a star-studded cast including Jamie Lomas, Patsy Kensit, and James Phelps from the Harry Potter series.

Head explained the films theme: The film is all about fun female empowerment. Its basically like all the girls stick together. Theyre bad a**, theyre strippers, theyre hustlers, and they dont take no s***.

We also asked Michael to explain Katie's role, Lisa, to us, so fans can get an insight into what she will be starring as on screen.

Michael shared: "The idea is ever since the court was set up from Jack the Ripper's day, there was an elected female who was the head assassin/boss. Now that gets passed on from person to person down the generations, and she was the 'Jackie' before the lead character, Lottie (played by Charlotte Kirk).

"At the end of the film, everything looks like it's falling to pieces and Katie's character, Lisa, is then called back to come and help. She was brilliant on set and played the role really well.

"It wasn't the biggest of roles, but she absolutely nailed it. I think a few people will be surprised with the performance she gives."

The movies release plans are shaping up impressively, with UK premieres, including Leicester Square, and a North American debut in New York. Talks are also underway for Latin American distribution.

Michael added: Hewes, the American film company behind the release, has won an Emmy and been Academy Award-nominated, and now theyre giving praise to Katie alongside other industry professionals at the Berlin Film Festival.
