TOWIE star Jordan Brook has thanked hospital staff for 'constantly watching over him 24/7' after he was diagnosed with two viruses.

The TV personality, 31, announced that he had been hospitalised with meningitis and encephalitis. Jordan, who is expecting a baby with his Geordie Shore star girlfriend Sophie Kasaei, said he didn't know how long he would be in hospital receiving treatment.

He has now confirmed he is still receiving round-the-clock care from hospital staff. Jordan took to Instagram on Saturday (March 21) with a snap as he watched the footy from his hospital bed; Everton ended up beating Chelsea 3-0.

Jordan wrote: "Thank you for everyone's kind words today. Your support and positivity is so needed.

"As we slide to the end of another day we keep getting closer to home. Continued thank you to the drs and nurses and hospital team, constantly watching over me 24/7."

The reality star also penned a heartfelt message to his family and Sophie's soon-to-be baby boy. Alongside pics of him and Sophie, he declared: "This won't beat me."

He wrote: "It is at dark times like these it can be so hard to see the light. My darlin boy your dad is resting up and getting back strong for you with the help of your amazing mum and all of your amazing family.

"Thank you to everyone who has visited me in hospital and for every single message of encouragement. This will not beat me. I will get home. My family I love you more than you will ever know I couldnt do this without you."

Jordan announced his hospitalisation on Friday (March 21). He said in a video on Instagram: "This is the first time I've really been able to speak strong enough about what's going on. There's been a lot of speculations as to why I'm here and what' going on and there's a few comments and people saying things that this is my diagnosis that I got yesterday.

"I've been diagnosed with not one but two joining viruses that are attacking a similar part of my body. I have got viral meningitis and encephalitis together. That's the inflammation of the brain and the lining around it." He added: "So this isn't something small or minor."

According to the NHS, meningitis "is an infection of the protective membranes that surround the brain and spinal cord (meninges)." However, it can be very serious if not treated quickly as meningitis can cause life-threatening sepsis and result in "permanent damage to the brain or nerves".

Viral meningitis "is the most common and least serious type". The NHS says that encephalitis "is an uncommon but serious condition in which the brain becomes inflamed (swollen)", and this can be life-threatening and requires urgent treatment in hospital.

The TV star has admitted it's been "really, really tough"(Image: Jordan Brook/Instagram )

Jordan explained that he'd undergone a lot of tests and has received "round-the-clock" care. He continued: "I had CT scans, MRI Lumbar scans, lumbar punctures. With round-the-clock care since I've been in this hospital. I'm on IV drips, everything antiviral, pain management, physio, seizure monitoring, to minor seizure risk at the minute."

"But unfortunately the swelling on my brain is getting worse. Really, really tough, even with the simple day-to-day activities and normal things that aren't easy right now. So this is what I'm dealing with day-today."

Asking fans to be careful about rumours, he added: "I'm on day 11 of treatment and I'd like to reach out to everyone and say just be careful what you read online and be conscious of some things that people are writing."

"Commenting this isn't like a joke or people are writing that I'm a lot worse than I am and there's big C-words being dropped and things like that it isn't that but there's swelling on my brain it's really bad it's up to my meds my steroids to try and get the swelling down I don't know how much longer I'm going to be [in hospital]."
