'Jude Bellingham's celebration does my head in he's far too smug for a tap-in merchant'

BRENT A GOB: Our man Harry Brent is p***** up and p***** off again - and in this week's column he's taking aim at Jude Bellingham, the rise of fan entitlement and stadiums playing music after goals

Brent-a-Gob: Bellingham's celebration does my head in

Im sorry but Jude Bellingham is really starting to p*** me off.

I get it. Hes freakishly talented, playing for the biggest club in the world and scoring for fun, but does he have to look so bloody smug all the time? Seriously, how does that arms out, eyes closed goal celebration of his not make you want to go full Slap Fighting Championship on him?

Its the look of someone who loves the smell of his own farts, and I wouldnt be surprised if cutting one in front of the mirror is how that pompous trademark started.

I mean have you actually watched Bellinghams goals this season? All but one of them have been tap-ins. Hes acting cockier than a rooster in a tuxedo, and for what? The footballing equivalent of getting a few strikes with the guard rails up.

Get some humility Mr Bellingham. Or should I say Mr Bellendingham?

Cut it out, shirt snatchers

Fan entitlement is off the charts these days and its doing my head in. Did you see that absolute shambles after Chelseas win over Crystal Palace? Enzo Fernandez tried to hand his shirt to a bloke with a River Plate (his former team) top and a bunch of self-absorbed jackals tried to intercept it.

To Fernandezs credit he stood his ground and waited for the parasites to retreat, but what a grim state of affairs. Its not about adoration anymore, its about shamelessly suckling at the teet of fame to get some attention. You know, like Newcastle assistant Jason Tindall does.

Kids with Can I have your shirt signs are just as irritating. Those cardboard monstrosities are as common as a fake-tanned slapper chugging a pint of Dark Fruits at the back of a Wetherspoons, and theyre nothing more than pathetic guilt-trip gadgets.

Sod off, the lot of ya! Let footballers be.

Stop playing music after goals

Each of Bayer Leverkusen's goals against Bayern Munich were succeeded by a Eurotrash anthem. What has football become?(Image: Corbis via Getty Images)

Football clubs who play songs over the tannoy after a goal can get in the bin.

I tuned in to watch the top of the table Bundesliga clash between Bayer Leverkusen and Bayern Munich at the weekend expecting to see a war. But the hostile vibe was tainted by the nights jarringly camp theme song: Around The World (La La La La La) by ATC.

Sure, its a banger, but in Popworld or at a kids party, not during a knife-edge football match. I get that Eurotrash is as German as Thomas Muller scoffing pretzels in a lederhosen, but look at how far weve stooped. Football stadiums used to be bubbling atmospheric cauldrons.

But nothing says our fans dont make enough noise like 40,000 people sitting on their bums grunting the chorus to Seven Nation Army. And here I was thinking the Bundesliga was the atmosphere league. Save the songs for after the game, Krauts.
