Patrick Bamford appeared to forget his duties in front of goal against Hull City.
The Leeds United frontman was torn apart by critics on social media following a tragic open-goal gaffe on bank holiday Monday. And Daniel Farke couldn't believe his side weren't up at the break given the gaping opportunity his forward allowed go to waste.
Bamford's run in at the far post evaded the Tigers defence, with Alfie Jones and Tyler Morton struggling to keep tabs on the Championship star. And that gave the onrushing Daniel James a huge target at the back post, with almost all of Ryan Allsop's net there for the taking.

But Bamford, 30, couldn't apply the necessary touch as he instead fired miserably over in a scene that would give some Leeds fans deja vu of the worst variety. That's after he also missed a gimme goal against Leicester City last year when Leeds were in the midst of a relegation battle that ended with them dropping out of the Premier League.
"Great clearance by Bamford," joked one rival supporter, who was only too happy to see the forward fluff his lines. Meanwhile, a Leeds follower wrote: "Eggs, bunnies, Patrick Bamford clangers. How many more Easter weekends will we allow this man to ruin?"

Others echoed a similar sentiment as another Elland Road disciple remarked: "How many more times are we gonna let this bloke get away with murder?!"
The striker had another clanger in his collection at Brentford back in September 2022, where he accidentally hit the ball back towards his own goal instead of in the open net ahead of him. Somewhat fortunately, that didn't stick out as much during a 5-2 loss to the Bees.
Luckily for the former Chelsea prospect, late goals from Crysencio Summerville and James rescued all three points for Leeds, who beat Hull 3-1. Their reward is a temporary move up to second in the table as they chase automatic promotion back to the top flight at the first time of asking.
