Leicester City Football Club, commonly referred to as Leicester City or simply Leicester, is a professional football club based in Leicester, England.
The club was founded in 1884 as Leicester Fosse FC and adopted its current name in 1919. Leicester City has a rich history, but they gained significant international attention by winning the Premier League title in the 2015-2016 season. This triumph was considered one of the greatest underdog stories in the history of English football, as they overcame odds of 5000-1 to claim the title. It was their first-ever top-flight league title. The club plays its home matches at the King Power Stadium, which has a capacity of over 32,000 spectators. After getting relegated in 2023, Leicester City were promoted back to the Premier League for the 2024/25 season
