MotoGP star attempts to race on rival's bike after crash that sent both tumbling to ground

The terrifying speed of MotoGP can often leave people in a spin, and two racers completely lost their bearings at the Grand Prix of the Americas

A Moto3 rider attempted to ride a rival's motorbike after they both went tumbling to the floor in the Grand Prix of the Americas.

Ivan Ortola and Stefano Nepa were both competing at the Moto3 Americas GP at the Circuit of the Americas, when they collided with each other at Turn 15. After both riders went spinning out into the gravel, it looked like their respective races were over.

Yet, Ortola and Nepa decided their race had not yet been run in Texas, and both looked to get back up and re-join the action. Except, there was one problem - Ortola was trying to start the complete wrong bike.

As Nepa got back to his feet, he was aghast to see his fierce rival maraud towards his MT Helmets - MSI bike. For around 20 seconds, there was a Laurel and Hardy moment between the pair which saw Ortola try and start the bike, while the Italian tried to wrestle him off.

Once the MTA Level Up driver realised he was trying to start a bike that did not belong to him, he jumped off and scampered back to his own motor. Ironically, the bike Ortola tried to hop back onto belonged to the team he was racing for last year.

Ortola's day only got worse as he went on to crash again. Except, this time, he did not recover to finish the Grand Prix.

Meanwhile, Nepa managed to finish in 18th position. Unfortunately for both riders, the only thing fans could recall from their respective performances was their moment of slapstick confusion.

"Bro forgot he switched team this year," one fan laughed. "Funniest thing I've seen in a while," another added before a third said: "I have never seen that before".

David Alonso would go on to win for CFMoto Valresa Aspar Team, finishing in 1st overall and banking a vital 25 points in the Championship.
