Grand Theft Auto 6 is coming next year, and GTA Online is getting a big update today, but don't count out Rockstar's saloon-bound cowboy franchise Red Dead Redemption yet.
Red Dead Online keeps moving along, but after whispers of Switch 2 ports for both Red Dead Redemption and its sequel, two of the most famous voice actors have begun teasing some "exciting news" that's coming soon.
Could it be confirmation that the game is coming to a new platform? Or is it something else entirely? Here's all we know about the news.
It all began with Rob Wiethoff, the unmistakable voice behind Red Dead Redemption protagonist John Marston, saying during a stream of the game that he's "got such exciting news" (thanks, VGC).
"I cant share it with you right now, and its absolutely killing me, he added.
Not as soon as tomorrow, but definitely before Friday, oh my goodness, the news I have to share, and I wont be the only one sharing it, I cannot wait for you to see whats going on."
I am so excited, I truly cannot think of anything else, especially playing this game, I cant think of anything else other than what I want to tell you so bad," he added, suggesting it's all about Red Dead.
We figured he was referring to a Switch 2 port, since rumours had been swirling of a Nintendo Direct taking place this week. Those reports were true, but the focus is entirely on Donkey Kong: Bananza, which is about as far from Red Dead's grounded tale of crime in the Old West as can be.
Imagine our surprise, then, when Roger Clark, also known as Arthur Morgan from Red Dead Redemption 2, responded to a fan asking about Wiethoff's comments.
"Do you know what the red dead news is Rob mentioned? You dont have to tell me what it is I just wanna know if you know," the post asked.
"Yes," Clark replied, adding a GIF of a dog smiling.
What do you think it is? A Switch port? A podcast? A double pack of next-gen versions for both games? Hopefully we'll know soon enough.
