Many of us have daydreamed about leaving life in the gloomy UK in favour of working abroad.

But before you pack up all your belongings and book a plane ticket, there are some things you should know first. A British expat living in Benidorm shared five attributes he looks for in employees.

Frank, a bar owner and stag do organiser who lives in Benidorm, revealed how to stand out from the crowd in the Spanish job market. He added that he's looking for candidates to join him ahead of the tourist season next summer.

In a candid TikTok video, Frank said it's surprisingly tough to find the right employees because it takes particular traits to be successful. Unsurprisingly, the pace and vibe of party destinations can take its toll on some.

As a result, Frank always looks for "genuine and honest" people who are willing to show up and work hard.

The TikToker said: "The right people are people who are genuine, honest, reliable, decent and trustworthy. The rest you can learn, and it really is that simple.

"You can learn how to do the job, but you can't learn how to be a good-hearted, decent person. The problem is, there's so many people out there mate, and they don't fit that bill.

"I'm looking for DJs, I'm looking for bar staff, I'm looking for floor staff, I'm looking for security, I'm looking for everything. Anyone that's really decent, I'll give them an opportunity."

Since the clip was posted online, people have been quick to reply. And unsurprisingly, many said they'd be interested in flying out to Benidorm to join Frank!

One individual responded: "You named me all in one Frank. I just need to make the move." Another replied: "I'm a successful DJ here in the UK, but really fed up with the UK. Other than work, there's nothing else here for me anymore, so would love to make the move, even if I have to live in a shed."

Echoing the sentiment, a third person added: "Love this, but so hard to find people like that these days." Meanwhile, a fourth commented: "What a dream job! If I can move my family with me then I'd actually love to do this!"
