Now that the weather is changing and winter is oh-so-slowly making its way out, many Brits are hurriedly googling away to find their next holiday destination whether its for summer, half term or simply the cheapest date on offer.

Well, if youre looking for a country thats both great value and has sun, sand and sea then look no further than Portugal. Not only can you bag 13 to hotspots like Lisbon and Porto, but the coastal country is home to one of the world's 100 most beautiful beaches. Praia do Camilo, near the town of Lagos, was ranked highly and we can see why thanks to its gorgeous blue water, golden sand and jaw-dropping sunsets.

The beach is often listed as one of the top things to do in Lagos and is accessed by a long staircase of 200 stairs meaning that from the top you can take some incredible snaps of the unique natural rock formations and sparkling water before descending to enjoy a day of swimming, sunbathing and summer fun.

Praia do Camilo is a fairly small beach so its best to head there at low tide before some of the sand is lost to the water. Plus, you should always keep an eye on the tide times for safety reasons as it can turn quite quickly. However, the beach is also perfect for anyone wanting some winter sun as its an all-year-round beach with calm and shallow water thats great for swimming.

The crystal clean water means its also an excellent choice for keen snorkelers who should be able to spot fish and other marine life while looking at the underwater world. Kayaking is also popular and you can rent them from various stands nearby. Theres also an interesting rock tunnel which reminds many beachgoers of Durdle Door.

At the top of the cliffs there are restaurants open for lunch and dinner time offering tasty fresh seafood. You should either choose to eat here, before you arrive or bring a picnic as there arent any food stands on the beach.
