Ibiza has everything you could want for a party-filled summer; amazing clubs, brilliant hotels, sunshine and gorgeous beaches. However, its popularity also means that in recent years it's hardly been the cheapest of destinations to visit.
There's good news for party-seeking Brits on a budget though, as there's one underrated party town in Europe proving a hit for its 'Ibiza-like vibes', pretty beaches, and impressive array of bars and clubs.
Sliema in Malta isn't typically a go-to for summer parties, but the underrated town packs a punch - and you won't have to face the huge crowds and queues to make the most of its highlights.

If it's a sandy shore you're after, then head to Balluta Bay. Visitors have often taken to Tripadvisor to praise the small beach for its pretty views and great location right by a host of shops and restaurants.
One happy holidaymaker wrote: "The sea here was clean, no floating black bits like we had on other beaches. Small amount of beach area to sit on so I imagine it fills up quickly, but we managed to get a spot and were pleased to have visited. Lots of eateries nearby."
Another added: "Fabulous area to stay in Malta. The view out over the bay is superb. Very clean and safe with a good range of places to eat and stay. There is a tiny beach, but then Malta is really about swimming off the rocks."
As for the nightlife, there are heaps of bars and nightclubs for those who want to dance the night away, or you can find some great pubs and restaurants with live music and heaps of atmosphere for a more relaxed night out.
The town is also a short ferry ride away from the Maltese capital of Valletta, so it's ideal if you want a bit of a mix of culture and partying. The close proximity to Valletta also means it can be a cheap getaway. The easiest ways for Brits to reach the town is to fly to the capital, and then get a short ferry or drive for about 20 minutes to reach Sliema.
You can find cheap flights with Ryanair from 35 or easyJet from 24.99, while Cheapflights.co.uk has also found fares from 45.
In fact, the team at Lastminute.com have flagged it as a must-visit in Malta because of the wide array of holidays on offer. They explain: " If you dont fancy traipsing around the tourist attractions, then Sliema and St Julians might be a better fit for you. Chill out on the likes of Balluta or Spinola Bays, or go for a dip at one of the freshwater lidos. It also has a few luxury hotels here if youre after those Ibiza-like vibes; and if its nightlife youre after, youve come to the right place.
"Head down to Paceville where there are tons of bars, clubs, pubs and more all vying for your attention. Or if partying isnt your scene, theres also the Bay Street shopping centre, Eden Cinema and Eden Bowling Alley to enjoy!"
