BTS star Jin confessed he had "so many worries" about their first gig in four years, which will be accessible on Netflix.
The K-pop sensations returned to performing for BTS The Comeback Live: Arirang, with the seven-member band commandeering Gwanghwamun Square in Seoul.
The ensemble - RM, Jin, Suga, J-hope, Jimin, V and Jung Kook - delivered their fifth studio album Arirang, the day following its release, alongside some of their most popular crowd-pleasers, including Dynamite. K-pop enthusiasts were delighted to witness the lads reunite after they announced in 2022 that they would be taking a break whilst they fulfilled compulsory military service in their homeland.
Throughout the hour-long performance, Kim Seok-jin, who goes by the stage name Jin, expressed in Korean: "Thank you so much for coming here. I had so many worries before about standing here today but seeing you all again, I'm so emotional and happy." Speaking to BTS's supporters, known as Army, he declared: "Thank you, Army."

In a preview for the concert, rapper RM, whose real name is Kim Nam-joon, declares: "We promised our fans that we would be back." The group assembled at the historic Gwanghwamun, the principal entrance of the Gyeongbokgung palace in Seoul, which was illuminated with purple, red and blue and packed with tens of thousands of shrieking supporters.
Park Ji-min, recognised as Jimin to supporters, also spoke to the audience during the performance and said: "We are finally here and seeing you again. The fact that I am speaking here... I am so moved.", reports the Mirror.
"All seven of us standing on stage together makes me so happy. Thank you all so much. You have filled Gwanghwamun Square today." The band also expressed gratitude to their supporters throughout the show for waiting for their comeback, and said that reuniting on stage was a "dream".
It has been reported that the band's leader, RM, sustained an injury before the performance, and he was observed restricting his movement and sitting on a chair at times throughout the concert. Complimentary tickets for the show were distributed to supporters through a global lottery conducted on the South Korean fan-community website Weverse, with general public bookings also available through NOL Ticket.
The performance comes before the launch of a new Netflix documentary on the band titled BTS: The Return, which will be released on March 21. It will chronicle the build-up to BTS's comeback, which was initially announced when the group sent handwritten letters to members of their fanbase across the world.
