K-Pop

K-Pop or Korean Pop is a genre of music which spans many other sub-genres, such as pop, hip hop, dance and rock. The style is known for its "idol" culture, with its stars going through rigorous training for months or years before they make their official debut. In the late 2010s, it began gaining significant popular around the world, thanks to huge groups such as BTS and Blackpink. In 2023, Blackpink became the first K-Pop group to headline a major UK festival at BST Hyde Park. The following year, boy group Stray Kids were announced as headliners for the festival. The group Seventeen were also confirmed to be the first K-Pop group to perform at Glastonbury Festival, on the Pyramid Stage.
