Celebrity Big Brother's Jack P Shepherd had his housemates in hysterics with a surprising confession about a Coronation Street legend.

The actor, known for his role as David Platt on the soap, was discussing the longest-serving soap stars with EastEnders ' Bianca Jackson actress Patsy Palmer.

As Patsy mentioned that June Brown, famous for her portrayal of Dot Cotton on the BBC soap, worked well into her 90s, Jack pointed out that William Roache, who continues to play Ken Barlow, is 93.

This revelation left their fellow housemates astounded and eager for more stories about these familiar faces.

It was then that Jack dropped the bombshell that despite working together for 25 years, Bill still calls him by his character's name, David, reports OK!

This disclosure followed Jack's earlier surprise when he suggested that if Bill had passed away during their time in the house, he wouldn't have been informed.

The housemates debated that he would have been told, given their lengthy professional relationship, which led Jack to highlight that the Ken Barlow star still doesn't refer to him as Jack.

He then did a comical imitation of the actor, leaving the housemates in fits of laughter. Jack has been portraying David Platt on the ITV soap for 25 years, while Bill has been a staple of Coronation Street since its inaugural episode in 1960.

He's officially the Guinness World Record holder for the longest-serving TV soap star, and fans were quick to react on X, formerly known as Twitter. One viewer exclaimed: "JACK TALKING ABOUT KEN BARLOW ANSHDBJZNX #CBBUK."

Another fan was left in stitches, posting: "I just choked at Jack saying Ken Barlow could be dead while he's in the house. I can't with him #CBBUK."

A third chimed in: "Jack talking about Ken Barlow with no care whatsoever for moment of the series. #CBBUK #CBB."

Yet another was shocked: "Jack did NOT just say Ken Barlow could be dead while in there #CBBUK #cbb." Someone else found humour in the mix-up: "Finding out Ken Barlow calls jack David is so funny #bbuk."

And another added to the amusement: "Ken Barlow calls him DAVID is brilliant #CBBUK." At the ripe age of 93, the actor remains a pivotal figure in some of the soap's key plots. His character Ken recently uncovered Cassie Plummer's devious plan to poison him after suffering a heart attack.

Cassie, who had been hired as his carer, aimed to keep him sick to ensure her job security. But the storyline took a darker turn when she began stealing from him. Eventually, her vile actions came to light, leading to her being shunned by the community, while Ken bounced back to full health.

In recent news, actor Bill received a Lifetime Achievement Award in recognition of his remarkable contribution to Coronation Street.
